The Great Firewall of China

I’ve been in China for about 3 weeks now and I already have had lots of adventures and fun stories that I wanted to post, but unfortunatly WordPress is currently being blocked in China. So I wasn’t able to post earlier. But I should be ok now, I found a way to get on WordPress through the use of a free proxy, Proxyrumble. It seems to be working, so I’ll try to make a real post soon. As soon as I have enough free time to recall everything that has happened over the past 3 weeks.

Sophomore Year

2006-2007 was my sophomore year of college. Lots more stuff happened, I had a lot more fun, and I learned a lot more. But once again I’ll post more about that later… I hope. Sophomore year is when Carls declare their major. I had to petition for a special major, but it cleared no problem, I am now officially a Chinese Language Major. Here’s my class schedule from sophomore year.

China 2006

After my freshman year I spend some time in China. I was in China on a CET Academic Program in the summer and Carleton Off-Campus Studies program in the fall. Between those 2 programs, and some traveling on my own, I was in China for 6 months. It was a lot of fun and I have tons of stories, which hopefully I will post on this blog soon.

I really enjoyed my time in China, that’s why I am going back this summer (2007), and why I really shouldn’t be blogging. I leave for the airport in 4 hours. I still need to pack…

Freshman Year

2005-2006 was my freshman year of college. Lots of stuff happened, I had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. But I’ll post more about that later… I hope. I am going to Carleton College in Northfield MN and I like it a lot. Here’s my class schedule from freshman year.

Leaving for China in 5 hours

Ok, so I’m leaving for the airport in about 5 hours and I’m just started to pack now… But I’m already taking a break from packing because I really want to get this blog up and running. My idea is to post info about China, school, and random life adventures, so other people can stay update on my going-ons without me have to send a bunch of emails, because I am horrible at keeping in touch by email, or otherwise.

The plan is to break things up by category consisting of periods of time (freshman year, summer 2006, sophomore year, etc.) I might be kind of confusing since a large number of posts are going to stories in the past, so they won’t appear chronologically, but whatever, that’s the best I can do… hopefully it’ll workout.

Will I ever start this blog?

Tomorrow I leave for China again. It’s been a year and I still haven’t started this blog. My plan was to share all my stories from last year and keep everyone who’s interested on whats going on with me, but I guesss I’m just way to lazy to get this thing off the ground.

If I somehow get really ambitious and finish packing for tomorrow, I might… maybe start this blog… maybe…
